Judd Power to develop engines for JAS Tensei Supercar designed by Pininfarina
Milan & Turin, 2 March, 2026:
JAS has appointed Judd Power – the renowned British engineering company, created by John Judd Sr and Sir Jack Brabham in 1971 – as its engine partner for the brand-new Pininfarina-designed Tensei supercar.
Starting with the naturally-aspirated V6 engines of the first-generation Honda NSX, Judd Power will be responsible for the suitability checks, lightening and enhancements with high-tech upgrades at its factory in Rugby, UK, to deliver maximum performance.
Completely rebuilt, the 3.5-litre V6 engines by Judd will undergo dynamometer testing to verify and calibrate performance, focusing not only on power and torque delivery, but also on reliability.
Returned to the JAS production facility in Arluno (Milan), the engines will be installed in Tensei supercars, which remain faithful to the values of the orignal NSX, and then verified with track and road tests before final delivery.
Judd’s history is studded with successes, from developing and servicing winning Formula 1 engines to creating the first sub-100 kg unit to compete in the premier championship. From 1996 to 2004, the Judd KV engine was supplied to every team in the FIA F3000 International Championship, achieving nearly 100 victories in the series. Judd also built powerplants that achieved an overall victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona and multiple class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
