Engine details (4.0L V8)

The baby brother of the V10, this clean sheet design was introduced for the 2008 season and immediately proved itself as the best LeMans privateer engine, finishing 3rd at the LeMans 24 hours on its debut. The dominance continued in 2009 with pole position and victory at Barcelona, 2nd place at LeMans and victory at Silverstone. The Speedy-Sebah team dominated the Michelin Green X challenge, winning by a huge margin.

In 2010 the Oak Racing team also finished 2nd at LeMans and won the Michelin Green X challenge.

The DB engines are used in hillclimb, recently powering Reto Meisel to the Swiss Hillclimb championship, single seater applications such as the Dallara GP 2 chassis, campaigned by a Boss GP customer and in LMP cars racing in the Masters Endurance Legends series.

Front Lower – 2 stud fixing
Rear – 4 stud fixing, 2 lower 2 upper

Electronics: Motec M1 series ECU or Life racing ECU (DBW applications), which are compatible with Megaline and Shiftec gearshift systems.
2 crank sensors, driver switchable with engine running.
Driver switchable engine maps.
Closed loop fuelling, driver adjustable fuel trim.
PID Traction control, driver adjustable.
CAN communication to and from chassis systems for gearbox control, traction control, data logging.
Multi-channel engine safety software to prevent engine damage (overheating, loss of oil pressure, etc).
Compatible with Motec, Cosworth, Magneti Marelli and Bosch data acquisition and dashboard systems.

Fuel System: 5 bar pressure, one injector per cylinder

Throttle: Barrel type throttle with integral pneumatic blipper. Actuation via cable or DBW motor.
